Grit & Perseverance

Superintendent Galaviz Dear Canutillo Community,

As we approach the upcoming intersession and spring break, I find myself reflecting on the importance of these breaks in our academic calendar. These periods offer invaluable opportunities for our students and staff to rest, regroup and re-energize as we prepare to close off another successful school year.

Intersession is a time when some of our students will be invited to participate in additional support sessions tailored to address their specific academic needs. These sessions are designed to provide targeted assistance to help students close any gaps in their learning and feel more confident as they progress through the remainder of the academic year. Our dedicated teachers will be working closely with students, providing one-on-one support and guidance to ensure that every student feels prepared and empowered to succeed.

For the majority of our students and staff, however, intersession and spring break are opportunities to enjoy a well-deserved respite from the demands of the classroom. It's a time to relax, recharge, and engage in activities that bring joy and rejuvenation. Whether it's spending quality time with family and friends, pursuing hobbies and interests, or simply taking time for self-care, I encourage everyone to make the most of this break.

While it's important to rest and recharge, I also want to emphasize the importance of keeping our minds active during the break. I encourage our students to take the opportunity to keep up with their coursework, engage in reading, and explore new interests. Learning doesn't stop when classes are out of session, and there are countless opportunities for intellectual growth and exploration outside of the classroom.

In the midst of the challenges we've faced in recent months, it's more important than ever to showcase the resilience and determination that defines our Canutillo ISD community. Despite the obstacles we've encountered, we continue to uphold our reputation as the ONLY Triple A rated school district in El Paso. This is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment of our students, teachers, staff, and families.

As we look ahead to the remainder of the school year, let us continue to demonstrate the grit and perseverance that set us apart. Let us approach each day with enthusiasm, determination, and a commitment to excellence in all that we do. Together, we can overcome any challenge and achieve great things for our students and our community.

I want to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to each and every member of our Canutillo ISD family. Your hard work, dedication, and unwavering support are truly appreciated, and I am continually inspired by the incredible work that you do.

Wishing you all a restful and rejuvenating intersession and spring break. Let's return refreshed and ready to tackle the remainder of the school year with renewed energy and enthusiasm.
