Why Does the 2021 Canutillo ISD Bond Election Ballot State Tax Increase?

When Canutillo voters hit the polls to cast their votes during early voting this week, some questioned why the ballot stated “this is a property tax increase” when district projections indicate there will be no increase to the total tax rate if the 2021 Canutillo Independent School District bond is passed.

Come Together

During our break we tragically lost a member of our Canutillo family with the passing of Canutillo High School sophomore, Carlos Lerma. He was an avid and gifted basketball player, #24 on the CHS basketball team. Carlos will be missed by the administrators, coaches and teachers who guided and mentored him during his time as a Canutillo ISD student and athlete in addition to his teammates, classmates and many friends he leaves behind.
