Canutillo ISD Partnering with the Institute for Learning at the University of Pittsburgh on a Planning Grant for Math Teaching and Learning

Canutillo ISD is partnering with the Institute for Learning (IFL) at the University of Pittsburgh on a planning grant that the IFL was awarded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The goal of the planning grant is to design a multi-year plan for implementing a high-quality mathematics curriculum that results in increased teaching and learning for our 6th through 8th-grade students.

Canutillo High School Principal Teresa Clapsaddle has been named the Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) District IX Administrator of the Year.

Canutillo High School Principal Teresa Clapsaddle has been named the Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) District IX Administrator of the Year. Clapsaddle was surprised by the award at their Trans-Pecos Association of Student Councils District IX Spring Conference Thursday, March 25.

Canutillo girl’s basketball accomplished one of the most extraordinary seasons in school history this year and several on the Lady Eagles team are receiving recognition.

The El Paso Times announced the All-City girls basketball teams on Monday. Varsity coach Anthony Lopez-Waste was named the 2021 All-City Girl’s Basketball Coach of the Year. In his third season with the Eagles, Lopez-Waste, who is also the Canutillo ISD, Region 19, and Texas Secondary Teacher of the Year, is humbled by the honor.
