Salute to Veterans

Superintendent Galaviz Dear Canutillo Community,

It is with immense pride and gratitude that I extend warm wishes to all on this upcoming Veterans Day.

On this day, we come together as a community to honor and express our deepest appreciation to the brave men and women who have selflessly dedicated themselves to serving our nation in the armed forces. Veterans Day holds a special place in our hearts, especially here in Canutillo, as our community is home to a growing number of military-connected families. Their contributions and sacrifices are invaluable, and it's crucial that we commemorate their dedication and courage.

We recognize the significance of this day not just in the broader context of our nation but also within our own district. Many of our employees are veterans themselves, having served with valor and distinction. Furthermore, some of our staff members are married to veterans, understanding and appreciating the sacrifices made not only by those who served but also by their families who stood by their side through their service.

The Canutillo Independent School District has always been committed to supporting our military-connected students and their families, understanding the unique challenges and strengths they bring to our community. We aim to provide a nurturing environment that acknowledges the sacrifices and unique perspectives of our military-connected families, ensuring they feel supported, included, and valued.

On a more personal note, I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt wishes to the men and women with whom I had the privilege to serve during my time in the U.S. Army. Your camaraderie, dedication, and sacrifice have left an indelible mark on me, and I am forever grateful for the experiences and lessons learned during our service together. Hooah!

As we celebrate Veterans Day, let us take a moment to honor and thank all the veterans in our community and across the nation. Their commitment to safeguarding our freedoms and protecting our way of life is a debt we can never fully repay, but we can always express our gratitude and respect.

May this Veterans Day be a moment of reflection, gratitude, and unity, as we stand in solidarity to honor those who have served and continue to serve.
