Mission Statement
Canutillo ISD’s purpose is to provide high quality educational experiences that will inspire and prepare all students to apply the knowledge and skills necessary to become effective leaders and productive citizens.

 
Vision Statement
Canutillo ISD is a premier school district with nationally-ranked, multi-literate graduates ready to excel in college, their careers, their community, and in life.

 

Goals

Goal One:  Provide a Safe & Secure Environment

By June 2017, safe environment will increase to 95% from 92% as indicated from the Employee opinion survey.

By November 2016, CISD Police Department Standard Operating Procedures will be reviewed to ensure compliance with all applicable policies, including but not limited to the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.

By June 2017, CISD Police Department will complete one training sessions per semester with staff and one training session with he community to discuss safety and security issues related to our schools and buildings.

By June 2017, CISD Police Department personnel will complete at least 12 cumulative hours of Continued Education, with an emphasis on those courses aimed at school campus safety.

By January 2017, CISD Police Department will develop and implement security data management systems and processes for entering Daily Activities and Incident Reports.

By November 2016, CISD Police Department will implement Phase II of the Video Surveillance Plan.

By June 2017, all campuses will provide a more safe, positive and secure environment indicated by maintaining or increasing 1% in the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Benchmarks of Quality assessment instrument. 

 

Goal Two:  Increase Student Academic Achievement

By June 2017, CISD will increase STAAR/EOC Satisfactory Performance for all Students by increasing in Index 1 by 1% point.

By June 2017, CISD will increase district Advanced level scores by 1 point in Reading, Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies and all End of Course exams

By June 2017, CISD will increase district Exceeds Expectations percentage by 1% point in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies and all End of Course Exams.

By June, CISD will decrease the number of 3's and 4's on PBMAS by 50% to show increased performance by Special Education and English Language Learners on STAAR/EOC exams.

By June 2017, CISD will increase the measurement of Post-Secondary Readiness Index by 1% point.

By June 2017, first and second grade students will acquire the recommended fluency rate as indicated by the state (1st 60-90wpm, 2nd 80-120wpm).

By June 2017, 85% of all first and second grade students will be reading at grade level.

By January 2017, CISD will establish a baseline that assesses reading, writing, and math proficiency levels of Prekindergarten to second grade students.

By June 2017, all staff will have opportunities for personal growth utilizing information from staff development and optimizing job performance to ensure student and employee growth.

By June 2017, CISD will create and practice effective recruiting and retention strategies through a process to attract a diverse and high performance staff.

 

Goal Three: Enhance Student Character & Drive Towards a Career/Profession

By June 2017, Career and Technical Education (CTE) will develop and implement a plan to develop endorsement academies that meet the National Standards of Practice for Career Academies as developed by the National Career Academy Coalition.

By June 2017, Career and Technical Education (CTE) will have no PBMAS indicators above 1.

By June 2017, using the American School Counseling (ASCA) model, all counselors and social worker will continue to develop the personal social domain of the comprehensive guidance and counseling program for pre-kindergarten to 12, to include character, etiquette,
student communication and utilization of community agencies.

By June 2017, student services will conduct 2 training's to address the eight components for the Coordinated School Health Team.

By May 2017, all campuses will provide the opportunity for students to participate in programs, field trips and events supporting character, education, social skills development and behavior management.

By June 2017 CISD will increase attendance rate to 98% from 96.9%.

By June 2017, CISD will increase teacher attendance rate to 98% from 94.2%.


Goal Four:  Build Meaningful Parent Partnerships for their Empowerment & Engagement in Their Child's Education

By June 2017, 100% of the campuses will promote parent engagement by developing parent groups and representation in various committees to identify campus needs, through data collection of parent participation and responses.

By December 2016. professional development on customer service and creating family oriented schools will be a focus in Professional Learning Communities for all campus office and support staff members.

By June 2017, 100% of campuses will provide outreach programs, training's and resources to parents based on student strengths and learning preferences, by utilizing data of parent participation and student growth.

By December 2016, CISD will develop and implement a Parent University.

 

Goal Five:  Convey and Share a Positive Image to all CISD & Community Stakeholders

By June 2017, CISD will increase all 10 components of the Organizational Health Instrument by 3%.

By June 2017, CISD will reduce the administration ratio to 11.36 from 12.36.

By June 2017, CISD will present a balanced budget for Board approval without utilizing Fund Balance.

Monthly, CISD will communicate with all stakeholders through multimedia (social media, web, print, etc.).

By December 2016, all 11 websites and District AP will be updated to reflect current information and data with weekly updates to follow.

By May 2017, CISD will develop a strategic communication plan to enhance and inform all stakeholders the happenings of the District.

By June 2017, CISD will establish 10 partnerships in order to leverage external resources with the Board's vision of becoming a Premier Institution of Learning.

By December 2016, CISD will develop "Leadership CISD" a monthly presentation series that gives community members a behind-the-scenes look within CISD schools and District administration.
