Canutillo ISD Teachers Start the New School Year with Team Professional Development at UTEP
Teachers in Canutillo ISD have returned from a restful summer break ready to focus on teaching and learning. The District kicked off the 2018-19 school year with a professional development conference given by District teachers and education leaders from The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).
“This one-of-a-kind conference leverages the tremendous skills that our most experienced teachers have in order to develop the capacity of all our teachers,” Canutillo ISD Curriculum and Instruction Executive Director Marina Rocha said. “Combine that knowledge with the expert research and support from the UTEP College of Education and we have one special opportunity to ensure the highest quality professional development of our teachers.”
The teachers gathered for a general session that included a special presentation by UTEP President Diana Natalicio Wednesday, August 15,
2018 at Magoffin Auditorium. The theme was “Building G.R.I.T. – Growth, Resilience, Innovation and Tenacity”.
