The 1-5A District Cross Country Meet was held Saturday at the Chamizal National Memorial. Junior Anisa Burciaga took first place, finishing with a time of 19:33.15. Burciaga, who was also named News Channel 9’s Athlete of the Week will make her third appearance at the Regional Meet in Lubbok next Monday.
The CHS boys advanced as a team, placing third in the District. Individually, sophomore Tristan Hernandez finished fourth with a time of 17:26.42
