Title II Program

Title II, Part A - Teacher Training and Recruiting

The purpose of the Title II Funds is to provide supplemental funding to improve student achievement for all students by helping campuses and the District to improve teacher & principal quality and ensure all teachers are highly qualified. Title II funds are used to elevate teacher and principal quality through recruitment, hiring and retention strategies. Local education agencies (LEAs) are given the flexibility to creatively address challenges to teacher recruitment & hiring, induction, professional development, teacher retention or more capable principals, assistant principals to serve as effective school leaders. The program uses scientifically based professional development interventions and holds districts and schools accountable for improvements in student academic performance.

Title II funds can be used for Superintendent, Principals, Assistant Principals, Teachers, Instructional Coaches and instructional paraprofessionals to ensure they continue to meet the No Child Left Behind (NLCB) requirement for being highly qualified.
