Thanksgiving 2020

Message from the SuperintendentDear Canutillo Community,

We enter the holiday season with a mix of caution and hope. Health authorities have issued strong warnings about gathering together for Thanksgiving. In view of the current surge in cases and deaths, families are strongly encouraged to stay home and not to assemble with those they do not live with on a regular basis.

While we must sacrifice to protect ourselves and others this year, recent breakthroughs in the development of vaccines give us hope for a normal Thanksgiving in 2021. Two major pharmaceutical companies have announced successful vaccine trials, which are apparently about 95% effective. However you decide to celebrate this Thanksgiving, may you be filled with love, gratitude and hope.

Congratulations to Reyes Elementary for being the elementary with the highest attendance at 98% in October, and to Alderete Middle for being the middle school with the highest attendance at 97.31%. Let’s continue to keep our kids present, engaged, and supported! #CanutilloEveryDay

As we continue this journey, we know and understand that school has been different for our children, parents, and teachers. Although different, we are here to help make this school year successful and keep our children engaged and connected.

The meal distribution takes place at the campus curbside from each school except for NWECHS. Monday pickups include meals for Monday thru Thursday from 10:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. No meals are provided on District holidays. Please visit our website for more information or contact your campus.
