Christopher Judge Named Principal at Canutillo Middle School

This is the image for the news article titled Christopher Judge Named Principal at Canutillo Middle SchoolThe Canutillo Independent School District has named Christopher Judge as Principal of Canutillo Middle School STEAM Academy.

Mr. Judge was formerly an assistant principal at Canutillo High School where he led the campus improvement team and was instrumental in the designation of CHS as a Texas STEM Academy. He obtained a $15,000 grant for implementation of a STEM Summer Bridge Program for Virtual Reality and also obtained a $30,000 grant for Future-Ready Classroom STEM teachers.

Canutillo ISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Pedro Galaviz is confident that Judge, with nine years’ experience as an educator and coach, will sustain the community’s expectation of performance.

“STEAM education and academic excellence will remain the main focus at Canutillo Middle School,” Dr. Galaviz said. “Mr. Judge’s standards for performance will ensure that high-quality instruction will take place every day and in every classroom.”

Judge previously served as an English teacher and boys’ basketball coach at Louis D. Brandeis High School and Karen Wagner High School in San Antonio, Texas. He began his career as Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at St. Edward’s University and became Director of Men’s Basketball Operations at Texas State University.

Judge states that he will use compassion to establish meaningful relationships with all students, teachers, and administrators.

“As Canutillo Middle School principal, I will shape a culture in which high expectations are the norm for each student, driven by authentic learning experiences,” Judge said. “It is my firm belief that student academic success and social development are expectations, not goals.”

Judge earned a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communication/Public Relations/Marketing and Advertising from The University of Texas at El Paso and a Master’s of Educational Leadership Administration from Lamar University.
