Jose Alderete Middle School

Jose J. Alderete Middle School opened its doors in August of 2006 as Canutillo ISD’s second middle school. The school serves students from sixth through eighth grade students and is a feeder school for Canutillo, Davenport, and Reyes. Recent boundary changes have led to a decrease in students from 725 to 660. AMS received 6 of 7 available distinctions under the Texas Education Agency's performance monitoring system and houses the Medical Academy that offers students the opportunity to earn high school credit in Math, Science and Career Technology in 8th grade. The proposed 2021 CISD bond, if passed, will fund a new AMS at a different location to accommodate projected growth.
